About me

My name is Kenia Diaz-Skjerdingstad. I am a self-taught visual artist based in Norway. Growing up in Veracruz, I always had paper, pencils, markers and paints. Drawing has always been my outlet. I came across to the mandala world 6 years ago as part of a healing therapy, and I have not stopped drawing them since then.

I moved to Norway in 2017 as I married Anders, a Norwegian journalist. Mandalas have been an important part of me while transitioning and adapting into a new country and culture. This is my peace of mind, the place where Scandinavian winters are more bearable.❅

In 2018 two of my pieces were part of an exhibition in a little art gallery called Blank Space in Oslo. It was a calling for all the Mexican artists around Europe to gather in one place.

I am also a ski enthusiast, cat lover and vegetarian. We just moved to a place in the Norwegian countryside called Lundamo, in Trøndelag, with my husband and our two Mexican cats.

What I hope for my art? To reach others and invite them to reflect on our here and now. To stop for a moment and realise that we are never alone, that there is an infinite source of energy who always has our backs. ∞

“Peace comes from being aligned with the present moment. Wherever you are, you feel that you are home – because you are home.” – Eckhart Tolle.
